Playing with Paper - Set 12

by with love by mushy 30. June 2009 00:05

ermm, did I mention I was back to designing? LOL sorry about the new product post every week :) I don't intend to slow down though, at least I make pages to go with the releases! hehehe

Here is my new template set (30% off today only):

mushy_playingwithpaper_set12 copy

I am trying to put a new spin on my templates. I am adding doodling and paper pieces but I am hoping people will pick and choose what they like to use, sometimes hiding layers, putting photos where there should be paper, etc. I hope to see lot's of very different looking pages made with the same template. It already worked with my Set 10, so I am a happy chappy ;)

Here are the beautiful pages I created with the new template set:

05_facesofanangel

Journaling: that day we had so much fun together. I loved watching you goof around and while I take photos I am so lucky that you enjoy being photographed as much as I enjoy photographing you.You are an angel! Thank you! mommy, May 2008.

Journaling:

You are my angel because you came into my life and changed it completely, and for the better. It changed my focus, changed my goals, changed my priorities, but most of all, you changed me, and I am a better person now than before I had you.

You are my angel because you make me laugh, you cheer me up when I am sad, you bring me happiness every single day.

You are my angel because you love me unconditionally and all I can do in this life is love you back.

I made these pages because I wanted to have the memories I recorded in my angel album included in my 2008 digital album, I just love these photos and didn't want to exclude them from my album just because I already scrapped them :)

Talking about hybrid albums.... I am itching to make one, but need to wait till next week when it is school holidays and I might be able to have some quiet time with the little angel you see on the pages above :)  Happy Scrapping!

Sketch 141 is live at the Pencil Lines blog and here is this week's free template:

PencilLines_141_preview

Here is my page with this week's sketch, I turned it 90 degrees counter clockwise so I could use this photo of Mateus that I love :)

A little close up of the handmade embellishments made with the Summer Soiree and Delight Stamp sets:

and I just loooove the look of the See Through letters lightly inked with acrylic paint. It was so easy to do and so effective:

Everything from Fancy Pants: Delight papers and buttons and the new Kraft Kuts die cut paper in the background.

Hope you like my page and that the digi girls have fun with the template, I might use it soon myself :) Have a great week!

Playing with Paper - Set 11

by with love by mushy 26. June 2009 01:29

So good to be back to designing :) It is also another incentive to get my pages done, you know I like to "test" everything I create so the first thing I do when I finish a template is use it. Here are the two pages I created with my latest set:

12_whatplayground copy

Journaling: We moved to the new house and had to take your little playground apart. I was responsible for entertaining you two while daddy finished moving the big things into the house and as soon as we got outside you saw the parts of the playground on the floor and loved exploring and looking through the bits and pieces. Shame mommy put it back together again.

Journaling: Lucas, you absolutely adore bananas. You want them all the time, one after another. I don’t even think you will ever get sick of them. Lucky you have good appetite and will eat other things too. It is so good to see you eating healthy!!! xoxo mommy Dec’08

Hybrid Feature - Summer Scallop Album

by with love by mushy 24. June 2009 07:16

Since it is SUMMER for my friends in the US and I am freezing here let's see some sunshine, shall we?

A cool thing about this hybrid album (and very brave/out of the norm for me) is that I printed it on Matte paper. Now this might be normal for a lot of people, but matte paper has special uses for me. It is a lot riskier to use it with liquid adhesives like mod podge, so I avoid matte paper because of that, but sometimes I just want to have more texture instead of intense colours. In this case specifically, I wanted to add my own journaling, so I picked matte paper to make my life easier, as I would have to use specialty pens to write on the photographic paper and would still risk smudges (I pretty much smudge as I write, lol)

As promised, here is the finished album:

Created with the Summer Time Collab of LDD designers (me included); Basic Grey's scallop album, American Crafts thickers for the title in the cover and some doodlebug designs ribbon for the ring :)

Like it?  Here is the template for 50% off this week only :)

and talking about sale, when I did a Hybrid Feature on my Train Album I forgot to put it up for sale so, today only, I am adding it to LDD's One dollar Wednesday :)

Happy Scrapping!!!

OLW: GOOD and some eye candy

by michellefilo 23. June 2009 07:09

And then, there was this page for the One little Word prompt this week: good:

01_goodtimes copy

The prompt really inspired me and I could do a whole album if I had the time, but I already made a mini album of this trip. Actually, I made two mini albums (that reminds me, it can be the hybrid feature this week!) Anyway, back to the topic... I don't have the time :) so even though I have more than enough photos to make like, 5 albums, I decided to restrain myself and just make a matching page:

01_littlexplorer copy

Now my 2008 albums is almost ready :) I just really need to scrap some pages of Mateus' birthday. In the pages above I made my own life easier and used my new Playing with Paper Set as a starting point for both pages... I love seeing how a template can turn into something completely different.

Now, you notice the BEAUTIFUL kit above? The wonderfully crafted, yummy alphas? This is the new collab: Capture the Moment by Kate Hadfield and Designs by Lili. Like, on a personal level, these are truly two of my favourite people in digiland and I do create a lot with their designs just because I LOVE everything they do, and love them just because they are gorgeous people too :)

Anywho!

They created a big problem for me, I should be working on my new designs and I just can't stop scrapping with this kit LOL seriously, it is driving me crazy :) I have made two more pages using this kit, inspired by the Hodge Podge Art blog prompt to scrap an emotion:

content copy

After the first was done, I could not resist making another one (using my templates again):

happyhappyjoyjoy

and just to prove the addiction... I created another one:

pictureperfect copy

I figured I have two options now, I have to either delete this kit from my hard drive, or succumb to this love and create a whole album with it :) LOL

xoxo

One Little Word: YES

by michellefilo 22. June 2009 03:36

Better late than never? hehehe My page for the YES prompt from a couple of weeks ago:

***removed for publication***

This was a lot of fun to put together. It was also for a Miss Fancy Pants Blog Product Feature showcasing the On a Whimsy journaling notebooks (this new kind of product is awesome!) I used On a Whimsy Papers and buttons but also a Transparent die cut "left over". Love the look and texture it added to my page :) Here is a close up:

***removed for publication***

Working on my "good" word as I type, check back soon!

Hybrid Feature - Car Album

by with love by mushy 18. June 2009 05:11

Once again I am here posting a project that has been published, and I am soooo happy about it! Look how cool is the photo in the magazine (Scrapbooking Memories Vol.11, No.03), my album is the front page of the Beyond the page gallery:

(you can click on images for larger version)

Isn't the setting they put together adorable? I had to wait a couple of months to post about it as the contract includes that the project can't be displayed when it is published, but now you can celebrate with me, I am offering the template above with 50% off this week only :)

Here are a couple more photos:

This one was a lot of fun to put together! I loved the colours from Vintage Summer kit by Michele Coleman. That reminds me.... I still haven't scrapped the photos from this year's trip to the Jamberoo water park... but I gotta finish my 2008 album first, lol priorities!

My first maternity session

by michellefilo 16. June 2009 08:15

My very good friend P., who has put up with me taking photos of her little girl and publishing it all over the world (Butterfly Album in the Aug'08 issue of DAM), has allowed me to take some photos of her pregnant self. We waited for days for the weather to improve and finally booked a time two weeks ago when at least the forecast was favourable. It wasn't the best day for lighting, it was cold so we couldn't really stay outside for long and my house is no studio so we didn't have much room to manoeuvre. But she was a good sport and sat and stood up and giggled and I am somewhat happy with the result. Well, the model is gorgeous, so I could not get it too wrong, right? Here are some of my favourites:

firstmaternity_0 firstmaternity_1

firstmaternity_2 firstmaternity_3

firstmaternity_4 firstmaternity_5

firstmaternity_6 firstmaternity_7

(photos edited with IttyBittyActions - Sweet set by Jinky Art)

Thanks P.!!!! You are the best! (and thanks for letting me post them here too!!)

... I enjoyed it... way more than I expected. I enjoyed editing the photos too (I think that is my favourite part). So it raises the question... should I do this for a living?

Thanks for stopping by!
