Hybrid Feature: Easter Freebies + Tutorial

by with love by mushy 7. April 2009 05:30

I am bringing back two freebies for you today. Both of them are from last year, even before I became a designer at LDD, but I can say they are worth bringing back :)

Firstly the mini bag template which is a MUST have for Easter (or Halloween, or birthday parties, or ... I see endless possibilities):

I used it a lot last years, first time it was for Easter:

The second freebie is a little set with six 4x4 templates perfectly sized to be printed on an A4 sheet to create a little keepsake:

EASTER KEEPSAKE STEP BY STEP

Here is the step by step I posted on the LDD blog (pardon if you have already seen this, it is just stuff I would like to have on my blog when someone does a search for tutorials):

1. Create six digital pages. Keep in mind you will print them in small size, so increase the font; and take consideration of what "real" embellishments you are going to add and save space for it.

2. Print your 6 pages in 4X4 size, it fits 6 in one A4 sheet. Get a sheet of 12X12 cardstock and cut a 4X12 strip. Also cut all your pages to size.

3. Fold you paper into 3 sections. If you have a scoring tool, it is best to score your paper every 4 inches. Or else you can just fold it by hand.

4. Adhere your pages with double sided tape or glue (easy on the glue!)

5. Add embellishments. I found these cute Easter themed buttons by Doodlebug. I also like to add floss to my buttons, but not all of them.

Journaling (love love love this, found on the net, author unknown):
On Easter morning at early dawn before the cocks were crowing
I met a bob-tail bunnykin and asked where he was going.

"Tis in the house and out the house a-tipsy, tipsy-toeing,
Tis round the house and 'bout the house a-lightly I am going."

"But what is that of every hue you carry in your basket?"
"Tis eggs of gold and eggs of blue; I wonder that you ask it.
"Tis chocolate eggs and bonbon eggs and eggs of red and gray,
For every child in every house on bonny Easter day."

He perked his ears and winked his eye and twitched his little nose;
He shook his tail -- what tail he had -- and stood up on his toes.

"I must be gone before the sun; the east is growing gray;
Tis almost time for bells to chime." -- So he hippety-hopped away.

Hope you like this post and have wonderful plans for Easter :) I do!
