Pencil Lines Sketch 165

by michellefilo 13. December 2009 14:38

We had a great weekend with lots of parties, I am astonished I am not tired, it was actually quite nice weekend. Now I have a crazy week ahead of me, I am glad things seen under control. Matty's birthday is almost ready to go, need to get all the little lollie bags ready and make some brigadeiro (little chocolate deserts, yum). My birthday is also all set, I will have a joint party with a close friend who also has her birthday this week. We are going to have a girls night out on Friday night, looking forward to that! It is also the last week of school, which in a way is such a relief for me, it has been a tough year for Matty and we didn't do so well, so I am looking forward to having proper holidays and start fresh next year. I have more to say, but not enough time :P lets just share this weeks free template based on Pencil Lines Sketch 165:

PencilLines_165_preview

and I got my Kaisercraft sponsorship pack in the mail, great stuff to work with! I think it even got a little of my mojo back:

Oh wow, what a week we had, happy everyone is finally healthy again and now I can try to catch up with all my commitments. Unfortunately I don't think I will have a release this week, but will start working on something for next week.

This week's Pencil Lines template is based on sketch by Anna Bowkis:

Pencil Lines Sketch 162

Hi all, how has your weekend been? We did a lot of celebrating over the last few days, and now we are exhausted and everyone is sick in this household. Lucas had a great time on his birthday and yesterday on his birthday party and Matty had so much of a great time this morning I had to take him to the hospital. His asthma was so bad even with medication I could not settle him down, poor munchkin. He is ok now, playing video games and ever so happy he didn't have to go to school, very different to the sickly kid begging me to help him breath 5 hours ago. I have to get control over this thing, it is getting scary.

Anyway, lets see him at his best? Dancing and twirling and being his happy self? Here is my layout for Pencil Lines this week, using Fancy Pants' Dancing girl line designed by Lili:

I have a new release this Tuesday, but other than that might be a little quiet this week taking care of my boy.

Pencil Lines Sketch 160

Enjoying all the DSD sales and celebrations? I have been flat out busy in real life so I did not sit at the computer this weekend, I don't usually sit at the computer on weekends and the kids didn't allow for an exception :) I will be announcing the winner to the 10 dollar coupon to my store tomorrow so you still have time to leave a comment on the previous post for a chance to win.

Another sketch is up on the Pencil Lines blog. This week's adorable sketch was provided by Anna Bowkis and transformed into a template by me. Click on image to download:

Happy (international) Digital Scrapbooking Day!

We are having a store wide 30% off sale at Little Dreamer Designs, and a blog hop! I know you love blog hops :) and one thing better than blog hops are freebies and giveaways, so here you will get both!

Here is my freebie:

mushy_recycledalpha1_preview

This is more than an alpha, it is a concept, an idea. I see people using leftover alphabet stickers on paper pages all the time. I am too lazy to do that with paper, it is a lot of work and easy to go wrong. But then I realised, how fun would be to do this digitally :)

Cutie copy

It comes with individual letters AND with the full alpha sheet. What I suggest is that you cut out your own alpha, so when you have two of the same letters they will each look unique.

 happy

Now go on to Michelle Coleman's blog to keep hopping. Don't forget to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win a 10 dollar coupon to my store :) The winner will be announced on Monday.

xoxo

Simple pleasures + free add on

by with love by mushy 3. November 2009 02:17

I usually consider myself lucky. I had pretty rough moments in my life but I can say the last 10 years have made up for it. Turning 30 last year was another time of introspection and learning. One thing I have learned is to appreciate and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Not waiting for the exhilarating feeling of visiting a place you always wanted to go (but one day I will make it). But finding joy on the little things like a relaxing cup of coffee after the exhausting morning run to get everyone up, feed and at school/care/work on time. Just those little things like watching the birds in the afternoon.

Anyway, as I was saying, I consider myself lucky with a lot of things in life, but the tremendous support and feedback I am getting in this designing adventure makes it a fact. A great example is this kit. When Jen and Becca contacted me about creating a digital kit I thought it was a great idea, and the more I heard about their ideas for the kit, the more excited I got. How lucky is that? To be asked by two very talented ladies to turn their designs into digital goodness? Honestly, I probably didn't use half as much material as I could have used to create this kit, only for lack of time, we might need a second instalment :) Without further rambling, I present our collaboration kit, Simple pleasures:

mushy_simplepleasures_preview copy

Jen and Becca have an etsy shop called One Bright Spot, and all the elements in this kit were handmade by them and digitally transformed by your's truly. Here is a clearer view of the yummy papers:

Looove the brushes, specially the splatter brush, gotta make more of these :)

Have a look at a couple of pages created by the Creative Team and guests:

mushy_simplepleasures_examplepages2

I am sure I will be using this kit over and over again, see my Pencil Lines layout on the previous post and I am working on some hybrid goodness :)

As usual, I wanted to let you have a "taste" of the kit before you buy it, so here is a freebie add on mini kit for your scrapbooking pleasure.

mushy_simplepleasures_addon_preview

If you download this and like what you see, leave us a message and wish the twins Happy Birthday!!! It certainly is encouragement for us to create more.

Thanks so much Jen and Becca for letting me share this freebie with the digital community and for this amazing opportunity!

Happy Happy Scrapping everyone!

Pencil Lines Sketch 159

by michellefilo 1. November 2009 15:09

Welcome November! I am still kinda shocked we are on the last 60 days of the year... and heading for the "busy season" for me. With all the family's birthdays, Christmas and all the celebrations that these entitle.. gosh I just realise how behind I am :) no stress no stress!

Here is this week's free Pencil Lines template based on the BEAUTIFUL sketch 159 by the amazingly talented Maisa Mendonça. Loved it!

Have a great week!

Come get your 2010 calendars

by with love by mushy 27. October 2009 17:38

The 2010 calendar templates  have been ready for a week and I was hoping to get my own calendars finished to show you but between a naughty printer, sick kids and being really busy, they are not quite ready, but soon! In the meantime why don't you give it a try and let me see what you come up with. Here are my new 2010 Templates:

A CD Case Calendar:

mushy_hybridmagic28_Preview

A ROUND CD calendar:

mushy_hybridmagic29_Preview

I have been doing a lot of mini CD albums and they are SO much fun that I decided I am doing a CD calendar. You can still use a CD case as a stand but I think these round pages will look good anywhere you display them, will show my finished project to you as soon as I fix my printer.

And since my printer is having hiccups (what is a hybrid scrapper to do without her printer) I have created a 4x6 version of my mini calendar. This way, I can print my calendar anywhere and assemble it at home :) and I love the new cuts:

mushy_hybridmagic30_Preview

The front cover is shorter so it shows a little of the creative cuts. I can't wait to put one of these together.

and this last one I created for my CT member Lia, just for fun:

mushy_hybridmagic31_Preview copy

cute isnt it? I love these tiny things! everything is 20% off today!

Now, I KNOW you are waiting for this part so let me share the FREEEBIES hehehe

My usual 2010 calendar stamps with a grungy/vintage look in English and this time I included Portuguese in the same download:

mushy_freebiecalendar_2010_Preview copy

Enjoy!!!!

I have also decided to post last year's A4 Calendar freebies in one download, in case you are new to the blog:

mushy_foldedA4calendar_blogfreebie_preview copy

these are VERY popular, fun, quick and easy and if you do run out of time to put your calendars together, they are a great alternative!! Here is an example by Cathy using both freebies and one example by me showing last year's calendar already folded:

(click for larger)

Lastly, if you are a newsletter subscriber, check your inbox for this:

mushy_newsletterfreebiecalendar_2010_Preview copy IMG_6371

The template includes a 2010 calendar stamp, but I highly recommend it to create a month by month diary like the above photo. I didn't create a calendar stamp like that because there are many around the digiworld already. I especially love this one by Leora, which is the one I used in my example.

I have more to share but this post is already so full of images I will wait :) In the meantime, happy scrapping!
